When should I leave for Changi?

Most people don't misjudge the drive. They forget the refund queue, the oversized-baggage counter, or that the run happens to land in peak hour. Fill in the flight and this counts all of it.

Common questions

How early should I get to Changi Airport?
Three hours before a long-haul international departure and around two and a half for a regional flight is the working assumption this calculator uses. Add time if you are claiming the tourist GST refund, checking oversized baggage, or travelling with young children — each of those has its own queue. Your airline sets the actual check-in cut-off, which for most international flights is 60 minutes before departure.
Does the calculator account for traffic?
It uses the upper end of the published transfer time for your area, and applies a further uplift when the drive falls inside a weekday peak window — roughly 7:00 to 9:30 in the morning and 5:00 to 7:30 in the evening. It cannot predict an incident on the expressway, which is why the result is a planning figure rather than a promise.
Is it different for Terminal 4?
If you are departing from Terminal 4 the drive is the same — your chauffeur takes you directly to that terminal's departure kerb. The complication with Terminal 4 is transferring to it from the other terminals, which needs a shuttle bus rather than the Skytrain. That only affects connecting passengers, not a departure from home or a hotel.

For the arriving side of the trip, see the Changi arrival and meeting point guide.
