Event transport
Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix
The Singapore Grand Prix is the single hardest weekend of the year to move around the city centre. The circuit is not a purpose-built track on the outskirts — it is Marina Bay itself, closed off in stages across the week. Hotels inside the circuit stay open, but the roads that normally reach them do not.

What transport is actually like
Barriers and grandstands go up days before the first practice session, and sections of Republic Boulevard, Raffles Avenue and the Esplanade approach close progressively from midweek. Drop-off points for hotels inside the circuit move to designated access gates, and those gates change between race days. On Saturday and Sunday evenings the surrounding CBD approach roads carry both race traffic and the usual weekend load, so a transfer that normally takes twenty-five minutes from Changi can take forty-five or more.
How to plan it
Three things make the weekend manageable. First, build a buffer of at least thirty minutes into every transfer between Thursday and Sunday, and closer to an hour for a Sunday evening airport departure. Second, tell us the hotel and the entrance you need, not just the address — access during race days runs through specific gates and your chauffeur will route to the right one. Third, if you are attending on more than one day, hourly disposal is usually the calmer option: the same car and driver stay with you, so you are not trying to arrange a pickup inside a closed street grid after the race finishes.

Common questions
- Can a car reach my hotel inside the circuit during race days?
- In most cases yes, through a designated access gate rather than the usual approach road. Give us the hotel name at booking and your chauffeur will use the gate that is open for that day. Expect a short walk from the drop-off point to the lobby at some properties.
- How much extra time should I allow for a flight after the Sunday race?
- Allow an hour on top of your normal Changi transfer time. The race finishes in the evening and the crowd leaves the circuit at once, which puts sustained pressure on every road out of Marina Bay for a couple of hours. If your flight is that night, an earlier pickup is worth more than a shorter wait at the airport.
